“Fold laundry” is a chore. “Defeat the Laundry Golem” is a quest. Same ten minutes — very different brain.
“Reply to that email” carries every past failure with it. “Slay the Inbox Beast” is just a thing you get to do. A quest card strips the judgement out of a task and leaves the start line — and a small XP number your brain actually wants to collect.
Do this now: forge one quest for the task you've been avoiding longest, mark it a boss fight, and go claim the XP.
